Greetings from Providence, RI! My name is Kat Townes, and I’m the Associate Minister for Mission and Youth at Central Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. I work to build community, empower others to use their gifts, and make space for the fire of the Holy Spirit to breathe, burn, dance, and ignite our lives with God’s radical, transforming love.
My work at Central includes (among many things!) outdoor ministries, adult education, leadership development, young adult ministries, pastoral care, youth groups, preaching, community meals, coordinating social services with RI agencies, worship leadership, trips to Haiti and ongoing work with the RI Haiti Task Force, digital discipleship, volunteer coordination, creative worship, Confirmation class, Vacation Bible School, committee work, inter-generational events, and direct service. I’m also working in the 2011-2012 year to organize the National Youth Event on behalf of the Rhode Island Conference of the UCC. I continue to be blessed by the lives and ministries of our beloved community!
