Being a volunteer leader for the National Youth Event is an important ministry that WILL CHANGE the lives of young people forever…and it will change your life too! Consider–what gifts has God given you to share with young people? How could your unique skills positively impact the group and facilitate a safe space in which students can explore their faith, question their beliefs, and find meaning in their experiences?
We are looking for selfless, motivated, team-oriented volunteers 25 and over who are open to sheperding our youth during the National Youth Event Trips. Leaders can serve on either the Service Trip or the Express Trip.
A seminary degree, unquestioning faith and a life without mistakes are NOT prerequisites. We do ask that you be open to journeying faithfully with God and with the other members of the trip.
We want to offer you the most support possible before, during, and after the trip! In preparation for the trip, we ask that you attend two training sessions. These will include some required work mandated by the church (paperwork!) and a lot of getting to know each other and running through possible on-trip scenarios. The first training will be on February 28, 2012 from 7-8:30PM at Woodridge Congregational Church: 546 Budlong Rd. / Cranson, RI 02920. This is a VERY IMPORTANT MEETING and is one of those rare times it’s okay to skip the basketball game, committee meeting, etc. If there is a major conflict, please talk to Pastor Kat about a possible make-up date: 401-331-1960 x223. Participating in pre-trip training is required for all trip leaders.
Make sure you go to the registration page to get all of the forms you need for NYE!
