Good Friday Service of Music

Friday, Apr. 18, 12 noon

At this year’s Good Friday Service of Music, the Central Congregational Church Choir – conducted by Patrick Aiken, organist/choirmaster – presents “Requiem” by Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924). The seven movements are scored for choir, soprano and baritone soloists, and organ. Noted for its gentle tone, Faure’s Requiem focuses on consolation and the hope of eternal life rather than sadness. And the final movement, the ethereal “In Paradisum,” will remind you of a choir of angels.
