Advent – a word that means “coming” – challenges us to look backward and prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem and remember the real meaning of Christmas. It also asks us to look forward to the Christ who continues to come into our lives and our world. We will celebrate this Second Sunday of Advent with the lighting of two candles – hope and peace – in our Advent wreath.
