Benevolence Criteria

Mission and Action Committee Budget and Benevolence Criteria

To be applied in determining allocation of approved Mission and Action Budget to Organizations selected for Benevolences.

  1. The organization’s mission addresses one or more expressed areas of
    Central Congregational Church’s commitment to human service, child
    welfare, health care, mental health, education and spiritual support.
  2. The organization’s services and programs address Mission and Action’s
    priority of providing shelter, food, and human service support.
  3. The impact of the services addresses underserved populations such as
    low-income persons and families, new arrivals, LGBTQ individuals, and
    individuals in crisis.
  4. The organization provides varied opportunities for members of Central
    Congregational Church to be actively engaged in service work or other
    activities.
  5. The organization is responsive to Mission and Action requests, provides
    regular feedback and demonstrates how funding benefits their clients.
  6.  The organization has articulated a clear need with a rationale that
    requires support to have clear impact.
  7. The Mission and Action Liaison or Central members can articulate
    strong endorsement for support of the organization.
