Central is privileged to be part of a vibrant art community. Every month, we exhibit the work of a local talent. This month, we’re pleased to feature portrait and fine art photographer Rebecca Zilenziger.

Known for her conceptual manipulation of light, Rebecca has spent decades refining ways of using light and shadow to play with the foundation of her visual vocabulary. Her work often navigates themes of connection and human experience.

“Inter:Intra Personal” is a visual and conceptual meditation on the dynamics of empathy, resilience, and the human condition in a polarized world. The exhibit reminds us that there is more that connects us than separates us – and that empathy and the ability to dream the world into a shared, more harmonious experience remain within our power.

Rebecca studied at The Parsons School of Design, both in Paris and New York City.  After graduation, she had the opportunity to work with world-renowned photographers Richard Avedon and Arnold Newman. Today, she considers herself a little “old school” because she still enjoys using film and printing in a darkroom – though she works with digital as well.  Her photography has been shown throughout New England, New York, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and Switzerland.
