The Director of Religious Education will join a talented and creative team of staff and lay leaders to implement creative ministries that enable children, youth, and families to grow in their Christian faith by fostering healthy child development habits, ensuring age-appropriate, and fully inclusive faith development for families in our community.

Position: Director of Religious Education
Position Reports To: Senior Pastor
Position Type: Full time (40 hours/week)
Position Summary: The Director of Religious Education is responsible for designing and implementing creative ministries that enable children and their families grow in their Christian faith. This role involves fostering healthy child development habits and ensuring age-appropriate, faithful, and fully inclusive faith development for all families in our community.
Position duties and responsibilities:
o Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the Children’s Ministries of CCC that include:
▪ Nursery
▪ Sunday School
▪ Age-appropriate worship opportunities
▪ seasonal events
▪ Confirmation
▪ Summer Youth Mission Trip
o Coordinate with the Religious Education Committee to establish effective, and fully inclusive ministries for children and families.
o Recruit, train, and involve new children’s ministry volunteers and staff
o Communicate consistently and effectively with parents.
o Create and effectively manage the budgets for Children’s and Youth Ministry.
o Meet each child at their individual level of development, and foster a love of God and neighbor. o Encourage each child’s growth into the community of faith.
Qualifications:
∘ Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to child development or Religion, Experience in childcare, CPR certification and/or willingness to complete CPR certification at church expense.
∘ Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience and skills in creative forms of Christian ministry, ability to develop ministries and programs, effective communication, collaborative leadership, pastoral care, teaching. Familiarity with Christian stories, tenants.
Evaluation and Compensation Review:
Competitive compensation will be offered to the Director of Religious Education based on their experience and expertise.
