About Our Auction
This sale is exclusively made up of items that were made in Haiti by Haitian artisans. The items were purchased when mission groups travel to Haiti. The items are bought at fair prices from the artists, thus helping them earn a living.
When the items are purchased here, the proceeds are used to support our various projects in Haiti such as:
–sponsoring children in primary schools;
–a nutrition program that feeds children much needed high quality protein in the form of a hard boiled egg every day;
–supporting a medical clinic with three nurses and a doctor; and
–a tuition assistance program for young adults who want to pursue a technical or professional career path.
These items make wonderful Christmas gifts. So when you purchase one of these items, you are actually giving three gifts — one to the Haitian artist; one to the other programs we sponsor in Haiti; and one to the lucky individual who knows they have received a gift that is helping to make a difference in the world. Hurry! This sale ends on Friday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m.
About SNEC Haiti Partnership
The Southern New England Conference (SNEC) Haiti Partnership (formerly known as the Rhode Island Haiti Task Force) was founded over 30 years ago when now retired conference minister, Rev. Dr. H. Daehler Hayes, partnered with the Rev. Jean Dorisca, the founder of the Mission Evangelique Baptiste Bethesda (MEBB) churches in Haiti spiritually as well as to help with providing funding for building schools and churches and supporting other community based services. Numerous groups have traveled to Haiti since 1990 and the Task Force continues today as the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) Haiti Partnership. The Partnership is more dedicated than ever to its Mission – “Providing education, quality health care, orphan relief, spiritual support and community-based services for the people of Haiti”. We do this through nutrition programs, student and school sponsorship’s, adult education, financial support for a medical clinic in Port-au-Prince, creating sustained friendships and joint advocacy for positive change.
