OK, This week is about INFORMATION and PACKING…

What do I need to work for 4 days non-stop…  tools? jeans? work boots? gloves? VERY specific Tshirts! (check!)  All has to fit into a smallish size suitcase.  Do we do laundry there?  Yes…  Got the rental car organized?  Yes.  Did I find the NOLA map?  Yes–sort of…

Who is going to the airport when?  When are we meeting the other members in NOLA?  and Where?

Mostly questions, but at the core of it, we feel we are going “home”, to a place devastated so many years ago that has found a place in our hearts.  To visit Beecher Memorial Church–finally back up and running with countless messages of good will and love buried under the new drywall, written by hundreds of folks from all over the US who came to help get it back together (including us).  To beignet’s @ Cafe DuMond, to sitting around chatting and to walking in a beautiful old city (Uptown especially).  To see first hand the impact of extreme poverty and wonder what can/will be done?  And finally to doing what we can to help–even if just a little bit for just a little while…
