Angell Society Reception

Sunday, Oct 22, 11:45 am

All are invited to a reception of Central’s Angell Society immediately after Worship in the Fireplace Room.  Our guest speaker will be estate attorney Paul A. Silver, partner at Hinkley Allen.  Paul’s practice is focused on trust and estate planning. He will discuss the incentives and benefits for planned giving and the options available. Please join us.  This is a great way to support Central’s future!

Meet and Greet The Rev. Patrick and Susannah Faulhaber

Friday, Oct. 13, 5:30 pm

We are hosting a potluck reception in Chapel Hall so everyone can have a chance to meet and speak with senior minister candidate, The Reverend Patrick Faulhaber, and his wife Susannah.  Please bring finger foods, cheese and crackers, appetizers, or beverages to share.  Patrick spent his early childhood in Barrington, where his family attended Barrington Congregational Church, so this will be a bit of a homecoming celebration.

Welcome The Reverend Patrick Faulhaber

Thursday, Oct. 12 to Sunday, Oct. 15

The Senior Minister Search Committee has unanimously recommended The Reverend Patrick Faulhaber – currently senior pastor at North Decatur United Methodist Church in Georgia – to become Central’s next senior minister. Patrick and his wife Susannah will visit Central this week to meet with the Central community, and Patrick will preach on Sunday. Please take this opportunity to get to know Patrick before the Special Meeting of the Church on Sunday

Welcome, Nick!

Please join us in welcoming Nicholas Collins, Central’s new communications assistant. Nick is a lifelong New Englander who currently resides in Riverside. He was drawn to Central for the opportunity to better serve the community. His background is in customer service and project management. Please stop by the office, introduce yourself, and let Nick know how excited we are to have him on the Central team!

CCC Youth Brainstorm

Sunday, Oct. 1, 9:30 am

NEOS and WORD, Central’s youth groups for middle schoolers and high schoolers, are ready for a new year of mission, faith formation, and friendships! But we are starting this year without a director of children and youth.  So we need your help … to generate some new opportunities and exciting activities for CCC Youth.  We’ll meet in Chapel Hall before worship for a one-hour brainstorm on ways to rebuild our youth groups. All ideas and people are welcome!

Accolades: Noble Brigham

Noble Brigham – senior journalism student at Brown University – has done it again.  On Sunday, August 24, he scored his second front-page article in The Providence Journal, “Kids as translators? Non-English speakers lack trained interpreters in RI’s local courts.” The piece details the haphazard approach to language interpretation in Rhode Island’s municipal and probate courts – and how this patchwork system may violate federal law.  Congratulations … again, Noble!
