Stewardship Moment

with Don Wolfe

I’m a relatively new member of Central Congregational Church. But in the five years I’ve been here, I’ve met many new friends, and they’ve given me things to do. So now I greet you as a member of the Stewardship Committee.

I’ve been asked to speak to you about why I pledge, and I will get to that in a minute.  But first I want to talk about stewardship.  Stewardship is the act of caring for an institution or organization in order to ensure its present welfare and future existence. … [Read More]

Teen Tuesdays

Tuesday, Feb. 22, all day

Judy is at Central every Tuesday, morning and afternoon. Central teens – and their friends – are welcome to drop by … to say hi, talk sports, “speak geek,” study, share whatever is on their minds, or just hang out.  But if you need to talk at another time, just call or text Judy.

Stewardship Community Dinners

Saturday, March 5, 5 pm

It will be wonderful to gather again for Central’s annual Community Dinners! We’ll meet in Chapel Hall for appetizers and then head to members’ homes for dinner.  It’s potluck.  Your host provides the main dish, and others bring sides, desserts, and drinks.  Great food … great people … great fun … and a wonderful time to think about what your pledge provides to Central, our community, and the world. Children are welcome. To attend or host, RSVP to Jeff Baran (jeff@wakefieldliquors.com) and let him know if you have any food or pet allergies.

CCC Youth Mission Trip

Sunday, July 16 to Friday, July 22

This summer, CCC Youth will travel to Appalachia, where they will put their faith into action. Our consultant for the trip is Praying Pelican Missions. You can check out their website at prayingpelicanmissions.org. We encourage all Central teens to sign up – including those who will enter high school in the fall, as well as 2022 high school graduates. Mission trips are rewarding, life-changing experiences, filled with adventure, fun, work, and fellowship. Please clear your teens’ schedules now so they will be free to come!

Faith Exploration

Tuesday, Feb. 1, 7 pm

People who are considering membership in Central Congregational Church will meet once again with our senior minister Rebecca Spencer – in the Fireplace Room – to share stories of faith and discuss what they want and need in a church.  If you have questions, please contact the Church Office (401-331-1960 / cccangell@centralchurch.us) – and Rebecca will get in touch.
