CCC Youth Mission Trip

Sunday, July 16 to Friday, July 22

This summer, CCC Youth will travel to Appalachia, where they will put their faith into action. Our consultant for the trip is Praying Pelican Missions. You can check out their website at prayingpelicanmissions.org. We encourage all Central teens to sign up – including those who will enter high school in the fall, as well as 2022 high school graduates. Mission trips are rewarding, life-changing experiences, filled with adventure, fun, work, and fellowship. Please clear your teens’ schedules now so they will be free to come!

Faith Exploration

Tuesday, Feb. 1, 7 pm

People who are considering membership in Central Congregational Church will meet once again with our senior minister Rebecca Spencer – in the Fireplace Room – to share stories of faith and discuss what they want and need in a church.  If you have questions, please contact the Church Office (401-331-1960 / cccangell@centralchurch.us) – and Rebecca will get in touch.

Celebrate Central!

The Board of Deacons has come up with an excellent – and easy – way to celebrate our wonderful and welcoming church and invite others to join us:  oval car signs.  There are two designs bearing Central’s website address – “CCC” and “Kindness Matters” – available as magnets and stickers.  Pick them up in Chapel Hall after Sunday Worship or in the Church Office during the week.  We welcome donations to help cover costs.  Thanks to George and Sandy Delany for shepherding the design process!

Musical Composition Workshop

Sunday, Jan. 30, 11:30 am

While Central members are in the Tentative Budget Approval Meeting, CCC children and youth will enjoy an interactive workshop with Shane Manzi – singer, songwriter, and guitarist. They will learn about the components of songs and other musical compositions and discover how easy and enjoyable creating music can be. Whether your kids have lots of music experience or none at all, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.

Tentative Budget Approval Meeting

Sunday, Jan. 30, 11:30 am

Your presence and input are crucial to this week’s annual Tentative Budget Approval Meeting. The budget determines what we can accomplish as a church during the coming fiscal year and enables us to keep our sanctuary alive with worship, music, fellowship, mission, and outreach. We’ll share updates on the Chapel Hall capital campaign and construction, as well as other church initiatives. We’ll meet in the sanctuary after worship.  Thanks for your attendance and participation!

Amos House Dinner Delivery

Wednesday, Jan. 26, 3:30 pm

We still need a volunteer to contribute salad for ten people at Amos House’s Mother-Child Reunification Program.  Please contact Lynne Seacord if you can help (314-413-3741 or mehl.seacord@gmail.com). And, many thanks to those who have already volunteered. Please label food donations “Amos House,” and deliver to the church kitchen on Wednesday, Jan. 26, no later than 3:30 pm.

Play Group

Tuesday, Jan. 18, 10 am

Central is forming a play group for toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergarten-age children. We’ll play, do some art, have snacks, and sing songs together. This will also be a great opportunity for parents to get to know one another. If you would like more information, please speak with Judy. We’ll meet on the second floor of the Church School Wing.

Stewardship Trivia Spectacular

Sunday, Jan. 23, 11:30 am

Central’s annual Trivia Spectacular, hosted by the Stewardship Committee, has been rescheduled. We’ll meet in the Fireplace Room immediately after worship on Jan. 23.  It’s a fun event for all ages and a great way to get to know each other. Plus, you’ll experience the fellowship and inner peace that come when we get together as a community of faith – something we’ve all missed since the onset of COVID-19. Pizza and beverages will be served! RSVP to Jeff Baran, co-chair of the Stewardship Committee, so we have enough food for everyone (jeff@wakefieldliquors.com).

Directory Updates

If you have recently changed your address, email address, telephone number – or have any modifications or updates to your entry in Central’s annual directory, please send them to Church Administrator Antonia Greco (antonia@centralchurch.us).  With your help, we’ll stay in touch!
