Wondering what you can do to help nearby Massachusetts in the aftermath of the tornadoes which have devastated 19 communities there? Church World Service has issued an urgent appeal for Emergency Clean-Up Buckets filled with the necessary supplies for cleaning after such a disaster.
The Rhode Island Conference is joining the Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont Conferences in an effort to collect as many of these much-needed buckets as possible.
Central Congregational Church’s Rev. Claudia Demick will coordinate our efforts in RI. If you have questions you may reach her at claudia@centralchurch.us.
The list of contents for an Emergency Clean-Up Bucket can be found at the following link:
You can find information about the buckets here.
Please follow the directions carefully and seal your bucket as directed!
All buckets should be brought to Central between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday on or before July 15. Church World Service will be sending a truck to collect the buckets from RI at that time.
Maine has set a goal of 1000! Let’s see if we can match or surpass that goal here in RI!
