On Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the wonder and mystery of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the powerful gifts and movements of the Holy Spirit. Please wear red in celebration of the tongues of fire – and to remind us of God’s never-failing love for us and the love we are called to show to all people. After Worship, join us on the West Lawn for the releasing of the doves!
Central’s Second Annual Week of Service has arrived! The Mission & Action Committee has lined up all sorts of volunteer opportunities, so at least one will fit your schedule. Sign up in Chapel Hall. And don’t forget that youth and families can enjoy an overnight adventure at YMCA Camp Fuller (619 Camp Fuller Road, Wakefield) before Saturday’s Back-to-Camp Work Day. Space is limited, so email Cristina ASAP, if you are interested.
If you’re looking for a church, we’d love to talk with you about it at our Inquirers’ Meeting. This is an informal gathering … with no commitment required. Just a chance to talk with our senior minister, Patrick Faulhaber, and others like you who think Central may be the right church home. Join Centralites for a picturesque spring outing on the Ten Mile River Greenway. Bring your family, your friends, or just yourself. Walk the path, or ride your wheels (bicycle, scooter, baby buggy). Dogs are welcome too! The path begins at Kimberly Ann Rock Athletic Fields, behind Wolf School (215 Ferris Avenue, Rumford). There is ample parking. Plus, the Greenway passes through Slater Park, where a restroom is available. Questions? Contact John Harkey.
MidWeek at Central is NOT for adults only. Kids and youth – including the Children’s Choir – are invited to hang together for dinner each Wednesday at their own kid-friendly table in Chapel Hall. At 6:30 pm, choristers will move to the Choir Room for rehearsal – while the others remain in Chapel Hall for crafts, games, and other fun activities. Contact Cristina with any questions.
Central’s popular discussion group not only explores the Christian response to political polarization in America, but also how we can turn Christian views into action. Contact Paul Armstrong or Kristin DeKuiper for more information. Join the conversation in the Fireplace Room.
Creativity is a form of renewal. In this group, led by artist Robert Ramspott, people of all skill levels are invited to slow down, breathe and reconnect with their inner lives by creating art – without judgement or pressure – so creativity can become an act of faith, presence, and shared humanity. Hosted by the Stewardship Committee, Family and Friends Trivia is an annual event that is fun for all ages – and a chance to kick off our new fiscal year. Let’s see which team wins this time! (Women Gather plans to have at least two teams.) Join us in Chapel Hall.
