Do you know a CCC Youth alum who could use a mid-autumn pick-me-up or a little treat as they face their first-semester college exams? Please bring your leftover Halloween candy and any other non-perishable goodies you think they will appreciate to church on Nov. 9. Please join our Thanksgiving Food Drive for Your Neighborhood Food Pantry (www.ynfp.org). They need stuffing mix, canned gravy, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, cake mixes, brownie mixes, canned yams, macaroni, and turkeys (frozen, please). Turkeys must be placed in the refrigerator. Everything else can be delivered to the baskets at the front of the sanctuary during Sunday Worship. Nov. 20 is the last day for donations. Thank you!
Central Congregational Church Choir invites you to an evening of music and fine dining. The Choir will perform “Gloria,” by Francis Poulenc (1899 to 1963). This joyful work features a solo by soprano Diana McVey and guest conductor Andrew Welch of Brown University. Afterwards, enjoy a wine-and-cheese reception in Chapel Hall, featuring Poulenc’s self-described favorites, along with child-friendly home-baked delights.

After coffee hour, Centralites will head over to Four Town Farm (90 George Street, Seekonk, Mass.) for some good old-fashioned pumpkin patch pickin’ and other Halloween fun. We did this last year and had a blast! This working farm and farm stand – five generations strong – is a joy for all ages. Definitely invite your friends and family to this fabulous fall outing.
On the first Sunday in October, Christians around the globe celebrate World Communion Sunday. On this day, we remember that Jesus Christ is Head of the Church and that all denominations that promote Christian unity are one – and we draw faith and inspiration from seeing we are part of a community of billions of believers. Join us as we share in the sacrament with Christians the world over!
This Sunday, we will celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis with a blessing of the animals. This special observance honors the vital roles companion animals have in our lives. The love we give to and receive from our pets is a valuable reminder of God’s love for us all. Interested pets, great and small, on leashes, in carriers, or in photographs – and their human companions – are invited to join our senior minister Patrick Faulhaber on the West Lawn.
