Gallery Opening
Friday, Oct. 4, 5 pm
This month, the Gallery at Central presents “Elemental Echoes: An Exploration of Color and Time,” by Providence artist Hollybeth Runco. This exhibit includes a variety of landscapes and waterscapes that juxtapose Hollybeth’s dynamic use of color and passion for palette knife work with refined brushwork – giving viewers insight into her artistic evolution over the past six years. Come, meet the artist!

September 2024
This September, the Gallery will present “Robert O. Thornton: Favorites – A Retrospective Exhibit in Honor of His 101st Birthday.” Mr. Thornton (yes, that’s Peter Thornton’s dad) painted nights and weekends while working as the RISD Museum photographer. His paintings were shown annually at the RISD Faculty Exhibition until his retirement in 1992 – and he has had many private sales along the way. Meet the artist at the opening reception on Friday, Sep. 6, 5 to 7 pm.
Last Week of Summer Worship
Sunday, Sep. 1, 10 am
This is the last week of Summer Worship – with services and church school beginning at 10 am. However, for those who are travelling and unable to attend Sunday Worship, Senior Minister Patrick Faulhaber is offering an opportunity to engage with the weekly service – which, as with every aspect of our faith together, is meant to be a cooperative practice. Be on the lookout for his weekly emails: “Notes for the Journey!” And, get ready for Gathering Sunday!
Trip to Old Sturbridge Village
Saturday, Aug. 24
This month, CCC Youth will take a day trip to Old Sturbridge Village, the largest living history museum in the Northeast, celebrating life in early New England from 1790 to 1840 (www.osv.org). They will enjoy the sights and sounds of times gone by and support one of our own, Ellie Hopkins, who is working there this summer! Contact Susannah (470-223-0337) for details or to RSVP.
