Please join them as they work on the building skills they’ll need: listening to instructions, using tools, and creating physical projects. Juneteenth

Today we commemorate the end of state-sponsored slavery in the U.S. On June 19, 1865, slavery ended with an order from General Gordon Granger to the state of Texas, the last to end slavery. It took 156 years to honor this milestone as a federal holiday. So, please take a moment to celebrate this essential step towards freedom for all people while also acknowledging that we must still work to eliminate the legacy of slavery in our great nation.
Community Clean-up Day

In preparation for the Youth Service Trip to West Virginia (July 5 to 13), CCC Youth will participate in two mandatory team-building events. And all Central members and friends – both youth and adults – are welcome to join in. For Community Clean-up Day, we will partner with other local organizations to spruce up our neighborhood. Register with Cristina by Sunday, June 8. We’ll meet at Central and leave from there.
“The Real Inspector Hound”
Saturday, June 7, 2 and 7 pm
The CCC Players present “The Real Inspector Hound,” the first theatrical production on the new Chapel Hall stage – directed by Liam Newberry and featuring a cast of Centralites. This one-act play by Tom Stoppard is a parody of stereotypical parlor mysteries in the style of “The Mousetrap,” by Agatha Christie. Admission is $5. There are matinee and evening performances in Chapel Hall.
Children’s Musical

On Sunday, June 8, during Worship, Central’s Children’s Choir will present “Once Upon a Parable” with words by Grace Hawthorne and music by Terry Kirkland. The musical tells of a rich person’s preoccupation with things that don’t matter. Discovering what really counts, the rich person learns a valuable lesson, and you might, too, as our Children’s Choir tells the story through drama and music.
