Friends & Family Trivia

Sunday, Jan. 26, 12:30 pm

Family and Friends Trivia, hosted by the Stewardship Committee, is an annual event that is fun for all ages. It’s Central’s way of thanking members and friends who have pledged in the past as we get ready to kick off the new year’s stewardship campaign. We are grateful for the kind generosity of our church community which will help Central thrive for generations to come. Please join us in Chapel Hall immediately following the Congregational Meeting. Women Gather have already planned to be there!

The Reverend Patrick Faulhaber’s Installation

Sunday, Jan. 12, 2 pm

A year ago, we called Patrick Faulhaber as Central’s new senior minister. We did this with a sense of hope and possibility – and the belief that his gifts, skills, vision, and passion were uniquely suited to Central’s mission and action. This service of Installation is official recognition of this call – a way of affirming the movement of the Holy Spirit that participated with us in the process, and that called this leader to this place at this time. Please come and celebrate with us!

Presentation: Camino de Santiago

Sunday, Jan. 12, 12 noon

This month, the Gallery features “Pilgrim Steps,” a visual transcription of pilgrimages made by artist Mary Dorsey Brewster. Camino de Santiago has been an important Christian tradition for 1,000 years. Culminating in the city of Santiago de Compostela – believed to be the resting place of the apostle James – the route covers 500 miles across the northern Spain. Mary will share her personal experience walking the Camino de Santiago and how it inspired her painting. Join us in Chapel Hall.

Confirmation Sunday

Sunday, Jan. 12

Confirmand Breakfast / Rehearsal: 9 am
Worship: 10:30 am

The confirmation class has reached its final summit. The confirmands have written their faith reflections and will share some of them with the congregation as they lead the service and are confirmed. Prior to Worship, the confirmands and their families will enjoy a delicious, celebratory breakfast in the Fireplace Room prepared for them by the Board of Deacons – followed by confirmation service rehearsal. Please stay after Worship and greet Central’s newest members!

Christmas Morning Worship

Wednesday, Dec. 25, 10:30 am

Central is one of few churches in Rhode Island to offer a service on Christmas morning. Ours is an intimate celebration of Christ’s birth. There’s no sermon, just a wonderful Christmas story and communion.  Please take an hour from your family celebrations to join your friends, neighbors, and people from out of town for a festive service that welcomes the Light of the World into our midst and into our hearts.

Share Your “Pinecone Harvest”

CCC Youth will be selling handmade Christmas wreaths to help fund next summer’s youth mission trip. And they need pinecones! So as you are cleaning your yard, walking your dog, leaf peeping, etc., please collect pinecones of any size or type and drop them off in the box labeled “Cones for Youth Group” in Chapel Hall. Then join us in the Makepeace Room on Saturday, Dec. 7, 11 am to 1 pm, to make the wreaths.
