Lenten MIDWEEK
Wednesday, Apr. 9, 6 pm
MIDWEEK continues during Lent with our annual Lenten Meditation series. This brief, meditative service in Wilson Chapel is a chance to contemplate your own spiritual path, share in another’s journey, and find connections in common ideas, concerns, questions, and experiences. Perhaps most importantly, we come to know one another in thoughtful and faith-filled ways. Children and teens are welcome at Kids Table at MIDWEEK for dinner, crafts, and games in Chapel Hall.
Inquirers’ Meeting
Sunday, Apr. 27, 11:30 am
If you’re looking for a church, we’d love to talk with you about it at our Inquirers’ Meeting. This is an informal gathering … with no commitment required. Just a chance to talk with our senior minister, Patrick Faulhaber, and others like you who think Central may be the right church home. To attend, simply contact the Church Office and meet us in the Fireplace Room.
Friday Film Fare
Friday, Apr. 25, 7:30 pm
In “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” (2022), we find ourselves far from Disney in the darker, adult world of Carlo Collodi’s original story of the wooden puppet who wanted to be a real boy. Using intricate stop-motion animation, del Toro sets the tale in Fascist Italy reminding us what it means to be truly human. [117 min.; color; rated PG] Join host Jim Silverthorn in the Fireplace Room. Not recommended for young viewers.
Adult Sunday School
Sunday, Apr. 27, 9 am
This month, Adult Sunday School will continue to explore “From Jesus to Christ,” learning the story of the first Christians as their new movement dramatically changed the Roman Empire in 300 years. Questions? Ask Claudia. Please join us in the Fireplace Room.
