Palm Sunday

To remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the children of the church – with palm fronds in hand and donkey in tow – will lead the congregation on a joyous procession around the block. We will enter the church for Worship at approximately 10:30 am, accompanied by Central’s magnificent organ and choir, which will perform “The Palms” by Jean Baptiste Fauré. We’ll meet outside on Diman Place.
Lenten Mission Supper

Please stay after the Lenten Meditations for for the last in this year’s Lenten Speaker Series. This week, Central is honored to welcome Tina Munter, Rhode Island Policy Advocate of the Green Energy Consumer Alliance, who will speak about environmental action. Join us in Chapel Hall following Lenten Meditations, for a simple soup-and-bread supper and scintillating discussion that impacts us all.
Lenten Meditations
Wednesday, March 25, 6 pm
Every Wednesday during Lent, a member of the congregation leads a brief, meditative service in Wilson Chapel, sharing their journey of faith. This is a chance to contemplate your own spiritual path, share in another’s journey, and find connections in common ideas, concerns, questions, and experiences. Perhaps most importantly, we come to know one another in thoughtful and faith-filled ways. Please stay after for our Lenten Mission Supper.
Easter Memorial Flowers

The beautiful flowers that adorn our chancel every year are wonderful ways to remember and honor your loved ones. To order Memorial Easter Flowers, contact the Church Office. The suggested donation is $40 per order (an individual or a couple). Remembrances received by Mar. 23 will be included in the Holy Week / Easter Sunday orders of worship.
Dedication Sunday

On this fifth Sunday of Lent, Central’s congregation will deliver its 2026/27 pledges. Pledges are the financial foundation of our church, our single most important source of funding. Your pledge enables us to create a viable budget – which determines what we can accomplish as a church. We hope you will express your support by pledging. So our worship, mission, and ministries may continue to flourish. Then following Worship, we’ll gather in Chapel Hall for a celebratory luncheon!
An Interfaith Gathering

During Lent, seven Providence congregations – including Central Congregational Church – are sponsoring Off of Hope: A Gathering of Interfaith Partners, a special event designed to build community with care and compassion. Courtney Nicolato, president and chief executive officer of United Way of Rhode Island, will be the guest speaker. Please join us at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church (50 Orchard Avenue, Providence).
