Pumpkin Picking!

Sunday, Oct. 12, noon

After coffee hour, Centralites will head over to Four Town Farm (90 George Street, Seekonk, Mass.) for some good old-fashioned pumpkin patch pickin’ and other Halloween fun. We did this last year and had a blast! This working farm and farm stand – five generations strong – is a joy for all ages. Definitely invite your friends and family to this fabulous fall outing.

Tuesdays With Scripture

Tuesday, Oct. 7, 8 am

Think of Tuesdays with Scripture as a weekly community devotional. Every Tuesday morning, we’ll look at and discuss a short Bible passage. Each session is self-contained. Come to one, or come to all of them! Contact Claudia for a Zoom invitation. She’ll also send you the reading and questions to consider ahead of time.

MIDWEEK

Wednesday, Oct. 8, 6 pm

Please join senior minister Patrick Faulhaber in Chapel Hall for MIDWEEK: fellowship, food, and faith-filled conversation. Centralites of all ages and their friends are invited! Adults share a meal at 6 pm and then dive into the previous Sunday’s scripture reading. Kids and youth eat dinner at their own table. At 6:30 pm, members of the Children’s Choir go to their weekly rehearsal – while the other kids stay for crafts and games. RSVPs, while not required, are helpful so we have enough food.

Food For Thought Book Group

Thursday, Oct. 9, 7 pm

Claudia’s book group will discuss “Tell Me Everything,” by Elizabeth Strout. Brimming with empathy and pathos, this novel is Strout operating at the height of her powers, illuminating the ways in which our relationships keep us afloat. As Lucy, one of the main characters, says, “Love comes in so many different forms, but it is always love.” Questions? Ask Claudia. We’ll meet in the Fireplace Room.

Women Gather

Sunday, Oct. 12, 12 noon

These days, we could all use a good laugh or two … or three – so come with a favorite joke to tell! The group will meet at Hamilton House. If you’ve never been inside this historic, French-chateau-style home, you are in for a treat! We’ll meet either in the library or the front parlor. To get there from Hamilton House’s parking lot, continue on to the driveway. At the drive-through portico, go up a few steps; the door will be open.

Adult Sunday School

Sunday, Oct. 12, 9 am

During October, the Adult Sunday School will continue to examine the Ten Commandments and what they mean for us today. The group will explore how these divine rules of conduct given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai, have challenged, changed, and transformed human society for millennia. We’ll meet before Worship in the Fireplace Room. If you have questions, please contact Claudia.
