Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, Oct. 5, 2 pm
This Sunday, we will celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis with a blessing of the animals. This special observance honors the vital roles companion animals have in our lives. The love we give to and receive from our pets is a valuable reminder of God’s love for us all. Interested pets, great and small, on leashes, in carriers, or in photographs – and their human companions – are invited to join our senior minister Patrick Faulhaber on the West Lawn.
Young Adult Gathering
Thursday, Sep. 25, 6 pm
Young adults ages 18 and up are invited to join a relaxed, open conversation about life and faith. Life is too big to walk alone – let’s journey together! We’ll connect, share stories, and build community along the way. Bring your questions, bring a friend … everyone’s welcome! The group meets in the Fireplace Room on the fourth Thursday of each month. Questions? Contact Cristina Ferri.
Called To Care Seminar
Sunday, Sep. 21, 12 noon
How do you accompany and care for people going through difficult times? Claudia Demick, Bob Iovino, and Caroline Johnson will show you how to share God’s love, comfort, and support with those in need – while honoring their unique life experiences and perspectives. Lunch will be provided. RSVP to Claudia. The seminar runs until 4 pm, in the Fireplace Room.
Children’s Choir
Wednesday, Sep 17, 6:30 pm
Central’s Children’s Choir welcomes young singers entering grades three to eight. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the choir room. But we urge families to come at 6 pm for MIDWEEK! We also encourage kids to bring a friend or two since it’s more fun to sing with your pals. The children sing most Sundays and warm-up prior to Worship. We welcome singers from all faith communities. Questions? Contact Patrick Aiken.
Block Party Central!
Saturday, Sep. 20, 12 noon
It’s finally here! Central has invited the whole community to a fabulous – and free – block party that promises to be fun for all ages. From noon to 3 pm, there will be games, activities, and a petting zoo – as well as food trucks, local vendors, and more! It’s a great way to introduce new friends and neighbors to Central. So bring the whole family, and don’t miss out on the action! See you on the West Lawn!
Apple Picking
Sunday, Sep. 14, 12 noon
CCC Kids and Youth and their families are invited to Jaswell’s Farm – one of the oldest family-owned and operated apple orchards in Rhode Island. Picking apples isn’t just the perfect way to spend an early fall day, it’s a chance to get a head start on important fall baking. Think apple pies, apple cobbler, apple cake, apple fritters, and more! Please join us at Jaswell’s Farm (50 Swan Road, Smithfield).
