Please join them as they work on the building skills they’ll need: listening to instructions, using tools, and creating physical projects. And all Central members and friends – both youth and adults – are welcome to join in. Please RSVP to Cristina. We’ll meet up at Chapel Hall.
Juneteenth
Tuesday, June 19
Today we commemorate the end of state-sponsored slavery in the U.S. On June 19, 1865, slavery ended with an order from General Gordon Granger to the state of Texas, the last to end slavery. It took 156 years to honor this milestone as a federal holiday. So, please take a moment to celebrate this essential step towards freedom for all people while also acknowledging that we must still work to eliminate the legacy of slavery in our great nation.
