WORD Clothing Drive
Deadline: Sunday, Oct. 9, 11:30 am
WORD, led by Simone Punchak, has worked with Clothes to Kids to organize a clothing drive for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Pick up a flyer in the Gallery to see what items are needed most. Please leave your contributions in the collection box in Chapel Hall. Sunday, Oct. 9, is the last day to donate.
Camp Street Ministries
Pre-COVID, Centralites brought non-perishable foods every Sunday for Camp Street Ministries’ food pantry. Now, it’s time to help fill their shelves once again! Think soup, pasta, cereal, rice, canned fish, meat, fruit, and vegetables, as well as sauces, spices and condiments. Please bring food items to Worship and leave them in the baskets inside the sanctuary doors – or drop them off in the church office during the week.
The Gallery
Exhibition of Central Artists
We hope to reopen the Gallery in November. What better way to do that than to exhibit works of art by talented church members? If you’d be interested in showing your work in a group exhibition of Central artists, please contact Donna Templeton (dftempleton122@gmail). We welcome two- and three-dimensional pieces. The number of items we’re able to display will depend on how many submissions we receive.
Confirmation Orientation
Sunday, Oct. 2, 11:30 am
The 2022/23 Confirmation Class will begin with an orientation for teens and parents. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the confirmation process, discover how classes are run, ask questions, and share concerns. Depending on the weather, we’ll meet outside at the labyrinth or inside in Chapel Hall.
Guiding Eyes for the Blind
Sunday, Oct. 2, 11:30 am
Ever wonder what it takes to raise a guide dog for the blind? Guiding Eyes is a non-profit organization that provides guide dogs – at no charge – to people with vision loss. On Oct. 2, Central will host an information session about becoming a Guiding Eyes puppy raiser. Volunteers care for puppies and teach them to enjoy being with people, cultivating the confidence these dogs need and preparing them for guide dog training. Join us in Chapel Hall.
